Building Knowledge and Community Around Bees
The Black Hills Area Beekeeping Club supports nearly 80 members with monthly educational meetings held indoors during winter at Western Dakota Technical College Room W242 the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6pm.
And practical beekeeping sessions outdoors in summer. We offer both beginner and advanced training to support modern apiary practices.

Monthly Meetings
Regular winter indoor sessions at Western Dakota Technical College focused on lectures and knowledge sharing.
Come meet us October-April at WDT room W242 at 6pm on the third Tuesday of those colder months.
April-September we visit various apiaries around the hills for hands on learning and we provide socials and honey spinning opportunities.
Hands-On Summer Experience
Outdoor beekeeping activities providing practical skills during the season.


Educational Courses
Basic and advanced courses designed to improve members’ beekeeping expertise.
Annual Beekeeper Conference
Organizing Rapid City’s local Buzz in the Black Hills Beekeepers Conference each February to connect and inspire.
